Presenters are primarily adult professionals representing dozens of organizations. Most have an outreach component to their jobs and are available to speak on a variety of topics to all grade levels. We also promote and utilize the talents of high school students as presenters and volunteers. Activities are included in the Festival Program only if they address at least one of the Topic Areas and they are hands-on! Presenters develop post–festival survey questions to ensure that students absorb critical activity information. All activities address multiple New Mexico Science Standards for the fourth grade. They also address many science standards for the 3rd and 5th grades as well as standards in other subjects.
