Water Festivals - Events

The 8th Annual Middle Rio Grande Children’s Water Festival will be held October 19 & 20, 2006 at the Albuquerque Convention Center. The event is open to 4th grade public, private and home school students and their teachers from Albuquerque and Rio Rancho. Participation is limited to approximately 45 teachers and 1000 students.Application period for this year's festival is over. Flyers will be mailed to teachers the first week of May announcing the event and calling for registration. Class selection will be made in late August. Students receive a complimentary snack and drink!

The 5th Annual Santa Fe Children’s Water Festival will be held on February 7 and 8, 2007 at the Santa Fe Community College. The event is open to fourth grade students and teachers from public, private and home schools in the Santa Fe area. Participation is limited to approximately 25 teachers and 600 students. Flyers will be mailed to teachers by the end of September 2006 announcing the event and calling for applications. If demand exceeds available space, a selection process will prioritize schools that have never attended. Teachers must apply on-line (click here).
